Rob the Hot-Dog-Kebab – Life Choices Hot Dogs In A Colourful Kebob
Meet Rob, the hot-dog kebob! Nope, these aren’t just like any ordinary hot dogs, which can be loaded in cancer-causing nitrates. These are WAY healthier and TOTALLY natural! These hotdogs are NITRATE-FREE, void of any artificial ingredients and use only the best beef around! Plus, Rob the hot-dog-kebob is way more fashionable. Hot-dog pieces skewered between rainbows of colour, such as cherry tomatoes, orange bell peppers and pineapple cubes, makes for a fun take on the traditional kebabs. And makes eating a rainbow of fun for kids!
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 Life Choices All Beef Hot Dogs
- 1 Sweet orange or yellow pepper, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 8 cherry or grape tomatoes
- 8 1-inch cubes of pineapple
- Olive oil for brushing
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Slice each hot dog into 6 pieces.
- Alternately thread 3 hot dog pieces, 2 pineapple cubes, 2 cherry tomatoes and 2 sweet pepper cubes onto each of 4 skewers.
- Brush with olive oil and place on rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until vegetables are softened.
- Serve with Colourful Quinoa Salad (see below).
Add a Colourful Quinoa Salad as a side to the Kebab:
Quinoa is the powerhouse of all grains. It’s a complete protein source made up of about 18% protein and is super-high in B-vitamins, essential for energy production and brain function.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked quinoa
- 1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
- ½ cup diced cucumber
- ½ cup sliced Kalamata or other black olives
- Half sweet orange or yellow pepper, diced
- 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp sea salt
Directions:
In bowl, combine quinoa, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, sweet pepper, olive oil, oregano and salt.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before servings.
